A lens is a good investment, and may be more expensive than the camera body. Make sure you do not waste your money. I have experience with Olympus cameras, and so my comments tailored to the objectives of Olympus.
Four sections look at Olympus camera lenses
I was quite lucky with the first objective of the Olympus camera I bought. Even if it worked, it was great. Now when I compare the current targetlens> I use, I can see the difference in sharpness. And it is this quality that makes a difference in large part OK.
However, I started doing more research, which has allowed me more comfort when investing in lenses. If you are a beginner, there are several things you should look for your goal. Regardless of the following four points, make sure the optics are good, you can ensure customer or looking to test!
1 - Opening: The amount of light hitting theimage sensor is controlled by the diaphragm. For example, f / 1.4, which is a small number, it's great because it coincides with a large opening. Aperture change the depth of focus of the camera, which is great for artistic reasons, and increases the light on the sensor, which is great if you shoot in low light.
2 - Focal Length: The length of your Olympus camera depends on the type of pictures. If you buy a telephoto lens, that allows you to zoom in, make sure the optics are sharp. It 'very easy to get a slight blur, which totally ruined the image.
3 - Stability: This is to reduce the blurring effects. Some camera bodies, such as my Olympus E-510, has image stabilization built in. Others do not, then you should look for Olympus camera lenses incorporating that. It 'worth the extra money.
4 - Quality: This is harder to describe. Whatwith some of the objectives that not everything is cheaper to refine the image. So if you have a 10 MP camera, image quality is only 5 MP. This is a complete waste! The only way to figure this out is to look at reviews and sample images. Sellers may not always have direct experience with this objective, although it depends on where you are.
And remember, always keep your target using a hood! Otherwise, you're just asking for trouble.
